The exact number of designs will vary from project to project, and other factors like the complexity of your request and your project deadline will also affect the response you receive. Extremely long deadlines (greater than 2 weeks) or very short deadlines will reduce the number of designs you will receive (unless you have a very large budget).

A contest holder can influence the number of submissions by actively inviting designers to their project, and providing feedback to participating designers. The more feedback you provide to designers the more likely you are to receive responses, and new designs from designers.
